NEXZ releases new “Mmchk” MV teaser and raises expectations for comeback
NEXZ has entered the final countdown for the release of “Mmchk” with a new preview of the music video. JYP Entertainment released the M/V Teaser 2 on April 24, continuing the promotional rollout for the group’s second single album, which will officially arrive on April 27, 2026, at 6 PM KST. On NEXZ’s official website, the recent schedule also lists the M/V Teaser 1, released on April 23, along with content such as “100 Mmchk moments (Directed by TOMOYA)”, “Bring that beat back!” and the Highlight Medley.
The first MV teaser introduced the main mood of the new track: an unpredictable visual atmosphere, with the seven members appearing in settings such as a restaurant, a hotel lobby and a subway. The preview highlighted striking expressions, fast gestures and a more playful energy, combined with a beat built for strong impact. At the end of the video, the phrase “Bring that beat back” appears as one of the biggest highlights, reinforcing the song’s rhythmic and performance-driven direction.
With Teaser 2, the promotion for “Mmchk” moves into its closest stage before the official release. The new preview follows a sequence of materials that have been building the identity of the comeback: first with concept videos, then with performance teasers, a highlight medley and MV teasers. The strategy gradually introduces the song, visual concept and choreography before the full music video premiere.
The concept of “Mmchk” has been presented as a freer, more eccentric and intense phase for NEXZ. In previous videos from this era, the members appear in chaotic and stylized situations, mixing visual humor, attitude and movement. Among the moments described by Korean media are scenes of the members messing up environments, running, playing with objects and turning ordinary situations into small performances.
This new era also reinforces NEXZ’s image as a group strongly connected to dance. In the highlight medley, Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hyui and Yuki appear rehearsing choreography, synchronizing movements and previewing parts of the single’s tracks. The preview placed performance at the center of the comeback, showing that “Mmchk” is expected to follow a direction marked by rhythm, attitude and stage energy.
The release of “Mmchk” is scheduled for April 27, with the single album and music video arriving on the same day. After the premiere, the group will also hold the NEXZ COMEBACK SHOWCASE “Mmchk”, set for 8 PM KST.
