“Mmchk”: NEXZ prepares second single album with title track, “HYPEMAN” and English version

April 25, 2026

NEXZ is ready to release their second single album, “Mmchk”, on April 27, 2026, at 6 PM KST. The project marks the group’s first comeback of 2026 and arrives with the title track of the same name, opening a new chapter for Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hyui and Yuki within JYP Entertainment’s global schedule.

The single album will include three tracks: “Mmchk”, “HYPEMAN” and “Mmchk (English Version)”. The inclusion of an English version of the title track reinforces the group’s international strategy, as NEXZ has been developed from the beginning as a global project by JYP.

The members’ participation in the creation of the songs is one of the key points of the release. Yuki, Hyui and Tomoya took part in writing the lyrics for the title track “Mmchk”, while Yuki and Tomoya contributed to the lyrics of “HYPEMAN”. The members’ presence in the credits shows an evolution in NEXZ’s musical identity and strengthens the group’s connection with the comeback concept.

Before the official release, NEXZ revealed a highlight medley that introduced snippets of the new songs and placed performance at the center of the promotion. In the video, the members appear in a rehearsal-like setting, with a cassette player nearby and an atmosphere focused on dance. The preview shows the members synchronizing movements, switching between serious expressions and lighter moments, before moving into the performance of “Mmchk.”

The title track was introduced with an addictive beat, lively rap and a concept that combines attitude with irreverence. The expression “Not typical” appears as one of the elements connected to the concept, suggesting a less conventional phase for the group. Meanwhile, “HYPEMAN,” the second track on the single, was presented with a fresher and more playful energy, with choreography designed to match the song’s dance-driven mood.

The choreography of “Mmchk” has also drawn attention. According to Korean media coverage, the album involved collaboration with names connected to dance, including We Dem Boyz, NAIN&CHAEWON, Y NOT and The BIPS. This choice reinforces the intention to present NEXZ as a strong performance group, with memorable choreography and a distinct visual identity.

The comeback promotion began before the MV teasers, with concept videos such as “Not Typical” and “This Is Us.” In these previews, the group appears in scenes with a free, chaotic and stylized behavior, including moments where the members mess up spaces, run, play with objects and turn ordinary situations into performance-like scenes. These contents helped define the visual tone of “Mmchk” before the official music video release.

In addition to the digital release and MV, NEXZ will hold the NEXZ COMEBACK SHOWCASE “Mmchk” on April 27 at 8 PM KST. After that, the group will continue with global events, including showcases in Taipei on May 4, Hong Kong on June 6 and Bangkok on July 4.

With “Mmchk,” NEXZ expands its presence as one of the new-generation names under JYP Entertainment, betting on a combination of strong visual concept, creative participation from the members, an English version and an international schedule. The release arrives with teasers, a highlight medley, a comeback showcase and global events, consolidating the group’s new phase in 2026.
